Abstract

This paper examines the existence of unique features in the personality characteristics of ski instructors. There were two experimental groups consisting of the total number of people who achieved Level I ski instructor certification in the class of 2010-2011 at the Spanish Ski School (SSS) in Candanchú (Huesca). To measure these characteristics we used the EPI-A Personality Questionnaire. Significant differences were found in 4 of the 5 personality traits studied, namely extraversion, openness, impulsivity and sociability, with neuroticism being the only feature in which no such inequality was found. Finally, this study was compared with others to check for the existence of a particular personality profile of ski instructors.
