Abstract
Mastery of teaching styles involved in the cognitive process of teaching/learning is essential for sports engagement. We evaluated 4 coaches and 65 young football players in the region of Huelva. The use of productive or reproductive teaching styles was recorded during a training session and intrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivation and lack of motivation were measured by a questionnaire. Significant correlation between attendance at training and intrinsic motivation has not been found. Nevertheless, significant correlation (p<0.05) between attendance at training and extrinsic motivation has been found. Preponderance of productive styles is not associated with higher levels of intrinsic motivation.
