Abstract
This present article analyses the formative needs of the public managers in sport, and also we enumerate the different formative areas that have direct influence of the managerial functions, and contribute an approach to the ideal professional curriculum in the field of sports management. Also we identify the deficiencies that public managers possess about curriculum matters directly involved in their profession. These conclusions and approximations are based on the empiric study on the opinion of 33 sports managers from different towns in the Community of Valencia, after applying ARENA1 (questionnaire for the analysis of the profession of manager, and the situation of the town’s sporting management).
