Abstract
In this paper the definition of sustainable development and its limitations is considered. Comparative basic data of Costa Rica’s development is analyzed from a perspective of Human sustainable development. The importance of tourism development, its insertion in a sustainable development strategy and the role that adventure sports could play in this strategy are analyzed.
