Abstract
Based on some interesting thoughts that relate to the present-day problem of sedentarism in our society, the following article shows the essential part played by physical education and sports as a mean of curing the problems that originate from the lack of exercise in our daily lives. The concept of sport must evolve and change so it can easily adapt itself to the requirements that our society demands, such as accessibility and motivation, and at the same time, it must also adapt itself to all the facts that relate to physical fitness from the health point of view. Following this line of thought, a reflection is shown on how judo could surpass itself to be seen as a motivating and attractive activity that could fulfil the rules established from the concept of physical education. Moreover, the article points out that from its origin, judo emerges more as a physical well-being than as a mere sport and it goes beyond the simple questioning of its results.
