Abstract
The survey is one of the most instruments of research in social sciences and is frequently used in the physical education scene. With the object of boosting its use by physical education professionals, the theoretical and practical principles that have to be followed in making a survey are explained in an understandable way. Special attention is dedicated to the determination of the example and to the selection and make up of the questionnaire. Lastly, the principles explained are applied to a practical case consisting in the realisation of a survey between physical education students of an institute.
