Abstract
The aim of this study was to identify the most reliable method of measurement in the balance test with eyes closed PEOC 5-30. To this end, we tested 92 students in the first cycle of ESO. During a PE class, the teachers explained to the students the characteristics of the study and showed the PEOC 5-30, performing a practice session in pairs. In the following two weeks, with an interval of seven days, the teachers applied the test on two occasions to groups of 12 students randomly selected. With the aim of identifying what type of measurement was most reliable, we valued the reliability of 6 measurements. Referring only to the first 3 attempts: the highest value, the average and the average of the two highest values. Referring to the 5 attempts: the highest value, the average and the average of the three highest values. We compared averages and obtained the CCI of each measurement. In the comparison of measurements we found no significant difference. The average of the five attempts turned out to be the most reliable average with a CCI equal to 0.83 and 0.82 for the first and second course respectively.
In conclusion, the PEOC 5-30 is a test of balance, applicable and reliable in children of the first cycle of ESO.
