Abstract
The aim of this paper is to analyze the role of women in the management of Spanish sports science journals. A comparative study of gender was conducted from the perspectives of a) journal director, b) journal editor, c) members of the scientific committee, and d) members of the editorial board of all the journals (n=33). The results show that: a) all directors are men (90.63%); b) in most of them the editor is a man (90.63%); c) the average percentage of women on editorial boards is 21.2%; d) the average percentage of women on the scientific committees is 17.97%. Finally, there are eight journals where no member of the editorial board is a woman and two journals where there is no woman on the scientific committee.
