Abstract
There are different biomechanics studies about rhythmic gymnastics jumps, there are kinematics (Lebré y Sousa, 1997; Sousa y Lebré, 1998) and kinetics studies (Ferro, Rivera y Pagola, 2000). However we have not found any study that evaluates jumps applying the requirement explained in the International Code of Points. These requirements are three basic characteristics that jump must fulfil: height, shaped fixed and well defined during the flight and good amplitude (FIG, 2005). The principal purpose of this project is to create an evaluation tool for rhythmic gymnastic jumps including general kinematics variables, common used variables in biomechanics jumps studies, and specific kinematics variables, translation of the basic characteristics that judges evaluated in competition into quantitative kinematics variables. For this purpose we used a 3D photogrammetry kinematics analysis. After several designs we present a specific evaluation card. We applied it to evaluate a high level rhythmic gymnasts group (n=19). The principal novelties of this proposal are: the design of an evaluation tool that take into account the rhythmic gymnastic Code of Points, the objective evaluation of the jumps basic characteristics and the attempt of achieve a new form of present biomechanics results that coaches can easily understand and assimilate.
