Abstract
The present article sets out to explain one of the educational practices carried out in the College of Infant and Primary Education “Pio XII”, Huesca (Spain).
In its beginnings, the spaces for action and adventure were a teaching experience done in such a way that the younger children could satisfy their need of play and movement in their own scholastic centre. Now it has changed into a teaching proposal, concrete and systematic, based on the pedagogic manipulation of the surrounding circumstances, that can be guided towards the carrying out of a natural physical activity in the education of children from 3 to 8 years old. In the spaces for action and adventure, each child in function of its personal characteristics can find the adequate surrounding situation to demonstrate its capacities and mark a rhythm of progressive advance in its development. In addition, the spaces for action and adventure constitute a peculiar mark that favours the appearance of a dynamic of interaction especially rich between children and between them and the adult. This dynamic of interaction drives the potential of the youngsters and allows various behaviours to be put in motion that lead them to an ideal development and balance of their personality.
