A Needed Switch

Abstract
The journal Apunts. Educación Física y Deportes, from now on to be called just Apunts, will no longer come out as a hardcopy.
This would be the headline of a news item in any general interest newspaper. I hope that one day the journal Apunts will have this media impact.
All issues of the journal can be read in open access in the publication’s three current languages (English, Spanish and Catalan).
Now the National Institute of Sport and Physical Education of Catalonia, the publisher of Apunts, is taking another step towards the sustainability and social responsibility incumbent on it without giving up the standards of exigency, quality, openness, rigorous evaluation of the original papers received and highest indexation.
In the same spirit of adapting to a constantly changing social setting, its management has introduced the Scientific Notes section. It will consist of short articles dealing with new scientific approaches and breakthroughs in the field of physical education and sport.
